Quite a few times I read "those are not RPGs" I suspect it be from the same person. Since RPGs were released on VIDEO GAMES they have been based on statistics, levels, magic, party, vanquishing evil, all that jive. This is the VIDEO GAME genre of RPGS. Role Playing Game, it's what you do. You play a videogame and you take the perspective of a main characters and you go down the story. Other paper style RPGs don't give you a story, don't give you a plot. MMORPGs are more similar to RPGs such as DnD. In console RPGs you are viewing a story, it's interactive because you control the characters, you get to fight random and boss monsters because that's interactive, that's the catch. It's supposed to be entertaining. The mechanics of games is what created consoles in the first place.
Oh and the guy screaming like he had his nuts chopped off, Most people don't want to play on a 15" - 19" screen that's less than one foot away from you. Most people play consoles because they can relax, a controller is more convienent than a keyboard. Tv screens are better quality t han computer monitors. Not everyone can hook up their tv to their computer, and most are just too damn lazy to do anything about. There are many with older computers which lag too much. In the end PC games are a lot more inconvienent. And face it, us video game fans are a lazy bunch.
Anonymous: STFU and suck it
