Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec: Final Fantasy VIII Orchestra Version
In the long line of Final Fantasy games, many fans have their own opinions on which game is the best, however most would agree that just about every Final Fantasy that has been released in the states has been a great game. Unfortunately, the above statement cannot be said by most FF fans when talking about Final Fantasy VIII (8 for you un educated punks out there). Most fans just hated FF VIII with a passion, the story was bland, too predictable, and waaaayyy to much lovey dovey parts for most fans to handle; however, In my personal opinion I believe that the music accompanied by FF VIII was the best in the series thus far, even beating out FF VII, IX and XI’s amazing soundtracks. Read on to see what I thought of the amazing music.
Does anyone out there remember hearing the music that went along with the Queen (I see you raising your hand! Don’t deny it!)? Remember how cynical she looked. I mean she had a stare only a mother could love. The scenes with her could not have been possible without the song Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec. The song is just so well composed; it is without a doubt, my favorite track on the CD. Just how surprisingly well the music fits in is great, once again Nobuo Uematsu shows us why he is the master at what he does.
In the game, the love scenes may have been too much for the average gamer to handle, but the 2 songs I would classify as love songs make those scene much easier to bare. “Love grows” is basically just the instrumental to “Eyes on Me”, however, it may just get you to think about that special someone. When you hear the climax towards the end of the song, it is just simply wonderful. And who could forget “Eyes on Me”? This is by far the BEST love song in ANY video game! I’ve known grown men who have cried when they heard that song during Rinoa and Squall’s love scene on the spaceship. Words cannot describe this song, simply breath taking.
“Fisherman’s Horizon” certainly grows on you. For me it has an upbeat sound to it. With the vocalist in the mix it just gives it a nice, crisp, upscale beat to it. The ending theme is very nice. It is like an assortment of various tracks, all mixed together to create a very excellent song.
Bottom line, this is a must buy for anybody who likes classical music, or if you're just simply a Uematsu fan. An already killer OST made even better by making every song orchestrated, to create the best soundtrack ever. There is none higher (unless, of course, he composes another one!).Whether you like calm ballads or heart-pumping battle themes, there's something for every Final Fantasy music fan on this CD. Check it out!
