Reno 911! coming back with another season!

As season 2 winds down this show is as popular as ever, maybe even more. Now that everyone knows that this show is a comedic smash and not just a fluke, it's pretty widely understood that there will be a third season. But when?

**Also, a special look back at Season 2!**

Comedy Central is finally doing something right. Apparently, Cedric Yarbrough (Deputy Jones) said in an interview that there will indeed be a third season. Naturally, this makes myself and many other Reno fans happy. But when is it coming? It's said that they will start 'writing' the third season late 2004 (December or so). Of course I use the term 'write' loosely, because one of the things that makes this show work so well is that it's ad-libbed. So I assume by 'write' they mean that ideas for episodes will be decided upon, and we will be treated to more of this fabulous show in the mid-late summer of 2005.

So with a third season on the way, I think it's time to look back at some memorable moments or lessons learned from season 2. Feel free to comment and add your own!

• The end of season 1 was a dream within a dream about Kenny Rogers and Dangle, which Deputy Garcia was having. Jones recommends that he seek help to stop him from having this dream.
• Weigel unknowingly falls in love with a serial killer, Craig. Because of this we not only learn that she is bad at charades (Has someone been bass-taping you?), but that Craig can be pretty thick-headed for a serial killer.
• More and more citizens of Reno are becoming familiar with the fact that the Reno S.D. have a TV show, and that if they run into the cops they might just get on TV.
• The Sheriff Department's new bullet prrof vests may be 'Beaner-proof,' bu they certainly don't stop a bullet.
• Dangle was for a time married to a woman, the heiress of a vacuum cleaner fortune.
• Junior lives in a trailer park, and is essentially a redneck though he does not technically consider himself to be one.
• Junior also has a severe vision impairment (cross-eyed?), but despite this is still the best shooter on the force.
• The deputies are in no hurry to help out the Ku Sux Klan, even if they're trying to reach out to the community or are themselves the victims of crime.
• The relationships between deputies Jones and Garcia goes through severe ups and downs.
• Jones is definitely the 'whiter' of the two black members of the force, and Williams isn't afraid to openly find this hilarious.
• "Sweat Equity" is a made up concept.
• Some D&D games just go too far.
• Williams will go to great lengths just to get vacation time. Dangle doesn't care if she takes a long time off, or that she lied about her religious conversion.

And more of a Did you know? moment: Reno 911! was in 2004 nominated for a GLAAD Media Award Nomination for outstanding comedy series.

Oh, those good times. Also with the second season came more celebrity guests, including

• Patton Oswalt (The D&D Dungeon Master who always hurts his friends; Kenny Rogers' assassin)
• Kenny Rogers (Played himself in Garcia's dream and in the episode in which he comes to Reno to promote his new book)
• Nick Swardson (Terry, the gay (?) drug addict and cheap hooker who eventually ends up as the inmate who does a lot of cleaning around the Sheriff's Department)
• Rachel Harris (Debbie, Dangle's ex-wife)
• Dave Holmes (Leslie Frost, owner of the Buy-Curios and Deb's new 'husband')
• Matt Walsh (Ian Meltzer, the guy who refuses to get served)
• Ian Roberts (Steve Hardcastle, a criminal profiler)
• Danny DeVito (As himself when G.W.B. comes to Reno)
• Michael Ian Black (Chris, the sex offender who plays chess 'not well')

Now I'm sure there are a lot more memorable moments or celebrity visits to Reno in season two, so feel free to comment and let us know the level of how psyched you are! I myself am incredibly psyched to know that Comedy Central made the right decision for once and will bring this comedic gem back for us fans once again!
