Something that has annoyed me with gaming sites is that Microsoft's Portable Gaming development has completely snuck under their noses. Microsoft is currently encouraging PocketPC manufacturers to beef up the base packing of handhelds in two areas: Graphics and Support of Small Optical Media. Why in the heck haven't any sites especially GameSpy, picked this up? I'm guessing developers such as HP and ViewSonic are to blame since microsoft hasnt set any standard of optical media across the pocket pc platform (currently there's only flash card being used with PPCs.) The squabble has been over the usage of either DataPlay discs or 8cm discs (like the ones used in gamecube, however 1.48 Gig unlike GCN's proprietary capacity) and also over the fact that microsoft hasnt updated it's CE version of directX since it helped sega develope a variant of CE for the dreamcast.

But there will be Microsoft Portable Gaming Devices! You will just see them with HP, Toshiba, and Viewsonic stamped on them.
