Ignore their fans? I don't think so. They're trying to do what they think is best for the company. They may be stubborn, but they have certain reasons as to why they don't do what the competition does. Sometimes things are risky. Nintendo took risks, and is continuing to take a lot of risks. Everything new a company does is risky. But they still listen to their fans...at least more than Sony and Microsoft do.
Yes, RE4 is one game. But Starfox is another. And so is Geist. And so is The Legend of Zelda GCN (tentative title.) And so is...*blah blah blah, you get the point*
Nintendo does need A LOT of improvement with what they do. But what I like about them is that they try to not always do what the competition does. If they were exactly like the competition, they'd be nearly the same, and they'd lose control. Why? Because Sony has their brand-name thing going for them. If Nintendo copied Sony, they would be just like them with a different brand name. I really want Nintendo to have more third-party support, and of course, online support. But besides that, I wouldn't change a thing.
