Everybody that keeps saying tat this game was a disappointment to the RE series, I actually disagree with ya'll.
The reason why? RE4 has creatures infected with something new. A new virus. Six years later, I highly doubt Umbrella would still be alive because a bunch of more cities would be gone. And Umbrella was destroyed so I doubt the T and G-virus can be "spilled" within another city.
RE4 has a very important part in the RE story line. Capcom is informing you that Wesker and Ada have something up their sleeve with this new virus since the T-Virus and G-Virus are possibly gone. And now Leon has another story to tell to the other Raccoon City survivors.
I also believe that the villagers and other creatures were infected with some part of the Progenitor virus, which is one of the first viruses ever created by Umbrella.
