Nbrid's 5 Year Anniversary (DVD?)

The 5-year anniversary is traditionally the wood anniversary (I kid you not), but not here at Nbrid! We do it in style, DVD style. While we actually began in April 2000, we will celebrate it right this June.

Like the intro says, prepare for our anniverary celebration to take place this June. Which while not the actual anniversary as we all know, is about when the site first came to be and Nbrid really started to take off. Well, relatively speaking of course. So it's not because we're slackers. I swear! Here is what our master, err President and Founder has to say.

Well this will be the main thread concerning all anniversary discussion. As you may or may not know, Nbrid was founded between April and June of the year 2000. It started as a chat room, but by June it was a full fledged site with actual content and structure. I could go into more detail, but now is not the time for that. What now IS the time for, is talking about celebrating 5 years of game-related obscurity and petty rivalries. That's right, Nbrid has made big strides in its time on the internet. Although it may seem odd for the creator to host his own celebration, I don't believe this is a congratulations to myself, but to everyone that has stuck around and contributed these past 5 years. Sure, I could just give $20 to bonestorm, but where's the fun in that?

If you didn't read the last paragraph because it looked too long, start reading now. Basically the plan is one week during the month of June to remember the best times had in this establishment. Events include:

• One night of chat in an actual IRC room, plus trivia and the Briddies!
• A look back at the most significant articles over the last 5 years on the site
• A coloring contest that will either be a googled coloring book page, or something drawn, probably with MrBot and company in it.
• POSSIBLY some online gaming if a common platform can be established...most likely xbox or some lameass yahoo game. Note that iSketch is an option.
• a special collector's dvd sent out to all deserving members. If you don't sign up before May, a minimum donation of ONE DOLLAR will be required for this. Seriously though, will that happen?

Of course more could be on tap for the celebration, including the revival of some OLD threads and any ideas you may have. Feel free to reply to this thread if you have any suggestions.

Now concerning the NBRID 5TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTORS DVD
Here is the information of its contents ripped directly out of the old thread:

• compiled images throughout the years, including logos and forum signatures
• all splash introduction videos (I think I can find them all)
• miscellaneous content and chat logs from users(if possible)
• the most interesting articles over the last 5 years in a handy offline location.
• the infamous "Nbrid Notebook" scanned and (I'll figure it out) compiled into pdf format.
• the "The Adventures of MrBot" notebook scans plus every single image of MrBot I can scrounge up, aka MrBot Through the Ages
• 5 year anniversary coloring contest entries (coming soon)
• pictures from my E3 trip (later this year)
• My 3d and 2d animation clips (BONUS!)

If you can think of anything else, please mention it. I'd say this is more than enough to fulfill a 5 year anniversary. I'd like to incorporate PSO images somehow, but the only ones I have are of me and bone from last year. Those could go on there too!

Now comes the matter of paying for all this. Of course this will be a GIFT so you are not obligated to pay. However, if I were to receive maybe a buck from everyone that's interested, I could make some nice labels, put it in an actual dvd case with a swank cover, and everything. The mimimum requirements would be blank dvds and shipping costs. It's really not that much money but if you'd like to donate a little bit for something extra nice, I'll put up a thread to do so.

STILL HERE? WELL I KNOW MOST OF YOU DIDN'T READ EVERYTHING I HAD TO SAY, BUT I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IF YOU SIGNED THIS THREAD WITH A SIMPLE RESPONSE OF WHETHER OR NOT YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING THE FESTIVITIES AND IF YOU WOULD LIKE A DVD. I will be taking donations by May at some point.

And finally, if you know of any former nbrids who may like to attend or snag a dvd, please let them know. I'll be making this event known to a few people and I'd like this to be better than that moderately successful "Nbrid Reunion" way back when. Thanks!
