PSO v.2 - Is Pay-to-Play Really so Bad?

I'd like to start off by saying that Sega made the RIGHT decision to

incorporate pay-to-play in PSO v2. It will help wean us so to speak

off of the nipples of playing for free online because just like PC

gaming most online console games will soon incorporate a pay-to-play

system to be able to access their servers.

I think that since PSO came out, North American users have been a

little jealous because of the attention the Japanese gamers got, ie:

lots of new quests and a tournament too. The main reason they got so

many updates and quests is because they've been paying to play since

PSO first came out. They also have less cheating on their servers and

various other things that make their online experience much more fun.

The main point I'm trying to get across is that pay-to-play for PSO

v2 is a good thing in that there will be lots of updates, but the

problem lies in how Sega is deciding to incorporate this system and

the problem lies in their downsizing Sega of America. The Sega of

America staff is too small to be working on the problem people are

having being able to buy a Hunter's License (what you use to get

online with v2). Various Sega of America reps have said there are

only 4 people working on this huge problem preventing thousands of

people (myself included) from getting online with PSO v2! Many people

were even "teased" by Sega somewhat because they were able to
get

online for about 3 days and then cut off. PSO v2 is a great game

online and even more fun than PSO, but it's quite wrong of Sega to

leave gamers hanging like this. Hopefully however, this issue will be

resolved shortly and we'll be able to enjoy the new online modes and

new quests that have recently been uploaded. Until then, well, to be

honest I'll just be playing my PS2 :D, at least they don't have server

issues, then again, they don't have servers D:.
