Think of it...in the future, we will have many gamers who are just now starting to game, and they will consider themselves old school. We're talking people who don't know that SNES means Super Nintendo, that have never even heard of Odyssey or Intellivision, or don't know that Timex and Commodore's computers not only played games but did a lot more, not to mention that you had to hook them up to a TV to use 'em. And they'll think they're the cock o' the walk when it comes to gaming.

I guess it just bothers me that with all the classic games out there, there's a future where people who consider themselves well versed in the history of video games, they won't even have heard of them, let alone experienced them. Maybe I'm just bitter.

I just want the kids to know there was a time before sony, and there was an entire era before that as well. Poor kids...who will school 'em?

heh, this and people like us also complain about way too many remakes for systems like the game boy advance. These kids need to play the classics! Honestly I didnt know about the Intellivision or Commodore 64 when it was out. I knew about the Nintendo Entertainment system when my sister got one in the late 80's. I was born in 1984 so I know what came out for my time. Im sure there's some grizzled old man that hates how I never played the REAL pong in the arcade. Bah. I hate these people too for no reason.

Hey you punk kids! Get off my lawn!

I've heard of (and played) the Intellivision and even the Colecovision, but WTF is an Odyssey? Or a Timex? Isn't that a watch?

I think a true diehard gamer would go back and play games of yesteryear. I know I've played games like Pac-Man and King's Quest and what not just to check them out. It's up to the older generation to teach the youngens:) And go see! We used to have to play without that 3rd dimension!

Well I do know the entire history of videogames seeing as how I read "The First Quarter" By Steven L. Kent. It is extremely informative. Ive played all them old games like pac-man and pole position on their original arcade cabinets. They had a couple at the boys and girls club WAY back in the day. I just dont feel inclined to find some obscure intellivision games just so I can say that Ive played one. It's more of a financial problem than anything else.
