Oh yeah... it has been 4 years since 9.9.99! Well, I'm enjoying it by playing the sequal to arguably DC's best game... SC2!

I was one of DC's harshest critics, but mainly cause I just said it didnt stand a chance. Saddly I was right. Not a top 5 console ever, but easily ranks as most underrated console ever.

It's funny how people are so in love with SC2 but never gave it a look back on DC. Or how people say how good SC2 looks even though really only slightly better then when on DC. And when you point this out they go, "huh, I always thought DC was crap."

Still, DC hasn't had a new game in 2 years now, so its time we all move on...

DC has new games coming out this year. However, not in this country of course. And bone, might I ask..."Who ARRE these people?" Who says such things? I mean sure, SC2 does look a whole lot better than the DC original, but it was much more of a graphical achievement back then than it is today.

Let's not forget the dreamcast's main purpose. NBrid. Ok maybe that wasn't it, but where would we be today if it weren't for the DC? If it counts for anything, I mentioned the cast's 4 year birthday to my roommate around 12:30 so I didnt forget. Hell, I was going to make a thread but forgot.

Idiots. I mean SC2 does look a lot better, but given 4 years and the biggest change I see is a more zoomed in camera, and it shows DC was no slouch like many thought. It just adds to the many misconceptions that gave it no chance. That it looked no better then a N64 (what N64 games did they play!). That it didn't even do "high rez" (sorry if they didn't gimick the fact that they were the first to have all games at 640x480 on a TV). That PS2 would make DC games look like Genesis (yeah that sure happened...). Ect.

I have noticed that over the last year and especially with the release of SC2, DC has been getting more and more respect. And it seems everyone claims to have had one and been a big fan... Hmm. It reminds me of something like Austin Powers were it flopped in theaters but exploded once on video yet suddenly everyone claims to have first seen it on the big screen... A little too late for DC anways, then again without the bust we might not have F-Zero GX (for whatever thats worth).

Bottom line, I love(d) fighting games and Dreamcast specialized in fighting games = DC is my fav. system ever. I don't expect anyone to agree with me.

Dreamcast started the whole "it's on a disc, but there's no loading"...with the exception of the DC/Xbox version of SC2, hat ever happened to that?

SC isn't the only case of "now that it's on PS2 it's all of a sudden good" syndrome. Let's see how many I can call to the top of my head. There's GTA (nobody wondered where the 3 came from), RE: Code Veronica X (the X was 10 extra min of FMV!), DOA2: Hardcore (two new outfits per character, THAT's Hardcore!), Crazy Taxi (same damn game), the Sonic Adventures (rehashed on the GC), etc. I could go on all night.

And lets not forget Nintendo's current fetish of connecting a console to a portable.

How ironic it is that the 2 most underrated systems of all time connected to each other before then! (NGPC and Dreamcast)

I'm done ranting.

Tork brings up a good point (yeah, wow). Since DC's demise, what major DC game hasn't appeared on another console in some form? I can't think of one (can you?). That alone says a lot. I'll add Jet Set Radio and Skies of Arcadia, to the list of suddenly "great" games.

Don't forget PSO, not everyone's cup of tea, but you have to give credit where credit is due.

Power Stone was never ported. That's all I got.

If it helps, I once sold a dreamcast and a couple games to a family that originally just wanted to get some genesis games. I think I may have said this before but oh well.

Man, I still love my Dreamcast!!! Ive owned over a 100 different games across my 4 different Dreamcast I owned, and a TON of accesories. Now I just own 2 Dreamcast, 6 controllers, 4 vmu's, arcade pad[official], keyboard, gun, fishing reel, Steering wheel, and uh, thats about it. My game collection is to around...30 games or so now, since most of the games I had I sold or stopped working[thats what happens when you have two little brothers]. There is still a bunch of games I want to add to my collection, although Skies of Arcadia is on GC and is improved so buying the DC version would be pointless. DC is in my top 5 fav. consoles...I will never forget you, Dreamcast!!!:(

It would be an insult if DC WASNT in your top 5. I mean, there arent a whole lot of systems to compete with. Obviously in your top 5 you have to have NES and SNES. It would be smart to include Genesis in there too. NOW comes the difficult task of choosing which two also belong in there. Some may go old school and mention one of the Ataris, Colecovision, Intellivision, or maybe even Oydessy. Im realistic and I can honestly say Ive never used any of those systems. I definately would have if I ever saw one...Anyway, now you can choose from psx, n64...alright maybe it IS more complex than i thought.

What no love for the Sega Saturn??[yahoo!], or the Jaguar[what a joke..], or the 3DO[even bigger joke], or the Virtual Boy[*barfs*]?? Ah, im not sure if Genesis would be in my top 5..because I didnt own one till 99 or so, after I traded my friend some comics for his Genesis and....Zombie's ate my neighbors!! I was never a big fan of the Genesis, but I did enjoy the Saturn! Wish I still owned my old one...:( Oh yeah, I have a couple Atari 2600's!! Although ive never been able to play them on anything except this crappy' old tv we got...but thats what emulators are for!!

Emulators are for online play for games that werent made to be played online. That purpose along with using them in general is illegal. Im comfortable with this though seeing as how almost all my roms, I also have (or had) in cartridge format. Well..that doesnt count those 800 NES roms but it should!
