That list is actually in order. Q3A was more than just a port, it had that awesome DC exclusive level, you know the one with the water and the mega health that was underground and the rail was up stairs with the quad. i loved that map, also Q3A was the first (and possible only?) game that let console and PC players face off. and lastly, the SegaNet servers were just awesome. I mean being in california and playing on a server in chicago and only having a ping of 100! One of my homies had a 56k connection and he played Q3 on his pc. He tried to play on a server down the street from him and he pinged like 500. SegaNet servers were so good that he ended up getting a DC just so he can play Q3 with a decent ping. Even today i ping not nearly as well on my PC with a 1.5 mbit connection then i did with my DC and 56k.

The Screen Savers is always good to watch. Sure most of the questions of just plain stupid. but the hosts are pretty good and most segments are entertaining and educational and it's on at 4 in the afternoon on the west coast. 4 o'clock isn't exactly prime time.
on a related note, another reason why i hate the merger is because Leo Leporte cannot be on the Screen Savers anymore because he is under contract with Vulcan Ventures so he cannot go with G4.

Just be happy you have G4 to make fun of. I must say that list of DC games is relatively accurrate. SC, JGR, PSO, Sonic, they all belong on there. I didn't play as much Power Stone as I would have liked but to this day there really isn't a fighter like it on the market (worth mentioning).

Oh yeah, what the crap is up with Mario Kart not winning best racer when it's clearly the most entertaining racer created to this day? Second would be F-zero. I guess NFSU would get 3rd. Speaking of getting the shaft, how about best alternative sports game that happens to be sponsored by dnL? SSX3 of course. It easily beat out THUG but EA didn't use their vast supply of funds to advertise for it so it only sold average.

What I meant about Q3A/UT being ports was that all the other games were (at the time) DC exclusives and I think that's what they were going for in making the list. (Q3A had a lot of cool maps... but why were some only playable offline?!)

The list isn't bad (except for HotD2). Anything else would be personal opinion. I would of added Toy Commander, RE:CV, Ooga Booga, MDK2, ChuChu Rocket, MvC2... hmm, but where? D'oh!

And Bah! NBA Street vol. 2 should of won best extreme sports! SSX3? Like you said, that was dnL... how could they win an award sponcered by Mountain Dew!

GoldenEye: Rogue Agent?

What movie is that from? Yeah, do some research please.

Tobey McGuire - Spider-Man 2

I heard his voice acting was TERRIBLE in that game.

Jimmy Eat World - "Pain" Tony Hawk's Underground 2

yes. No wait, I think maybe the other one from Burnout 3, you know the only other rock-poppy song on Futures.

Donkey Konga (Nintendo)
Katamari Damacy (Namco)

HUH? Did they seriously put these in? I mean, bravo but...why is most of this list shit?

GMR???

Astro Boy: Omega Factor

Again, good call, this is a great game made by TREASURE.

BEST RPG
The Bard's Tale (InXile Entertainment)
Fable (Microsoft Game Studios)
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (Atlus Co.)
X-Men Legends (Activision)

I never sold a SINGLE copy of Bard's Tale. Fable was...well not garbage, but very dissapointing. Oh, whatever this list is total shit and I wasn't expecting any better. Sure they surprised me with 2 categories but a real awards show wouldn't surprise me at all. It would be more like EGM's game awards issue.

So... anyone else watch The Screen Savers this week? I hadn't seen it in awhile, and it's quite different. Kevin and co. from Pulse seem to be on it now along with Kevin and co. from TSS. Also, there doesn't seem to be a studio audience anymore? What's the deal with that?

I did enjoy the vodka distiller. No longer do I have to waste cash on Stoli when I can buy bottom shelf shit and just use my PUR water filter to filter it into good shit! Ingenious! Now I have more cash to spend on crack! For more info, consult the show notes.

Also, anyone ever hear of the anime Last Exile? They were hyping it up that it's starting Monday, but that doesn't nessasarily mean it's any good.

D'oh! I watched too long, now Judgement Day is on... Zah? Tommy just gave the newest Lesiure Suit Larry an 8.5? Oh god...

Wow... so today I caught an episode of Icons where they talked about the history of Donkey Kong. Nothing I hadn't really heard before about Miyamoto. Then it got to talking about the 10 year gap between the last DK NES game and when DK Country (SNES) came out. I hadn't realized that. That's when it got interesting...

It talked about Rare, how cool the rendered 3D graphics look, how it was well receieved, how it set sales records for 16bit games (1.9 million), ect. But then it said not everyone was happy with it... They showed an interview with Peer Schnider (the IGN guy) who said it was boring. Huh? He complained about the bananas you had to collect being useless. (Hmm... does he feel the same about the coins in Super Mario Bros?). Then it talked about how even Shiggy hated it. Saying he said the game just went to show how people will buy anything if it looked good. Wow. Well, at least I really liked the game.

If you want a mediocre DK game, check out DK64... (which the show did mention and say that about it)

Yeah I read that Shiggy didn't like DK Country either. I really liked it at the time, but now it seems like sort of a plain platformer...still fun though.

Getting back to Miyamoto. I think I read in "The Last Quarter" that he did say anyone will buy a nice looking game and Nintendo wanted him to design something like that for the new Mario game. Instead he opted to make the colorful storybook looking Yoshi's Island as somewhat of a rebellious decision to flat 3d sprites. In the end, Yoshi's Island is a MUCH better game.

I can't say I've played DKC (or DKC2 which I also liked) recently, but to me it's still a SNES classic. The mine carts, Rambi, ect were all great additions to a platformer. But I will say this, SMW2:YI was a better game.

Those were nice additions and back then I thought it was really fun. However, looking back those additions really didn't make the game a whole lot deeper. Mine carts were fun. I'd say DKC isn't even as deep as Mario 3, and that came out years earlier.

donkey kong country was an awesome game, around the time it came out I was a sega man rocking the Genesis and I had recently moved. One of my friends from where I used to live had DKC and I used to beg my parents to take me to visit him just so I can play DKC. I loved that game and wtf is a shiggy?

On another note, are Kevin and Sara an item or something? They knocking the boots? Are they in the mix? Are they having relations? Are they engaging in sexual intercouse with each other? The public deserves to know!

Donkey Kong 1 and 2 did and still do rock! One of the few times I really had fun collecting, Banjo & Kazooie being another.

I knew I couldn't be the only one who still thinks DKC was a great game. Shiggy (aka Miyamoto) is a fool!

As for Kevein and Sarah, I think it's fairly obvious the answer to all those questions is yes. They don't reall hide the fact they are a "couple" or whatever they are, but who cares. I'm not into that soap opera crap.

I may be trailing off the subject here, but I am pissed off at G4 and must bitch for a minute. When they merged with TechTV we of course lost a lot of great TechTV shows for shitty G4 ones but that was ok to me, my favorite shows survived but damnit they went to far now. They cancelled Unscrewed with Martin Sargent. X-Play gets alot of recognition for being the channel's best show and I wont argue that point, but Unscrewed was the unsung hero of the channel. Every night you came for X-Play but you stayed for the fucked up humor of Unscrewed. So last night as I was getting ready for work I turn over to watch the shows and damnit, after X Play they showed Icons! Not to knock that show, it is one of the few interesting and decent shows G4 had but damnit man, Unscrewed was superior! Where else can we go for Joey the Intern's informative tips for rigging your enemies' bikes so they handles will electrify and lock up while they are speeding down the sidewalk? And where shall we go to see porn stars compete against against each other in trivia for no gain other than our amusement? Nowhere I tell you. It was a show that pleased all. Even for the lethargic and romantically challenged, Martin showed porn pics at the end of the show so as to assist in their masturbatorial odyssey. All I can say is that today is a sad sad day in the history of fucking up basic cable programming.

And dude, of course Kevin and Sarah are knocking boots.
