New game: monkey ball, iPhone version
I'm a bit upset. I'm a huge smb fan, and they fucked this one up. It's just too damn hard to control and way too frustrating. It is what it is I guess.
It's probably the only negative thing I can say about the iphone so far... (I'm even using it as I type this...) |

| FF 4 for the DS is everything great about the original plus more. Love the voiced cut scenes. Better than the DS ff 3 remake. Now where is the FF6 remake? |

I could see the headphones jack being an issue, how could I wear my Koss portapros? But I'm a new comer and just got one 2 weeks ago. I guess the fact I have access to my work email everywher I go is the worst part... I know that's nothing special, but it does concern me...
Now if only people would tell me why they just didn't rerelease all the FFs then maybe we would have world peace... |

| having wikipedia at my disposal to settle barguments is a pretty great thing and the AIM app they just patched is pretty fucking awesome but that headphone thing really gets my goat since i had to buy a shitty pair just to wear at the gym. |

it sucked when both iphone owners at work ended up leaving and we no longer had instant youtube gratification. Stuff like "snorlax owns" and "italian spider-man" really helped pass the day. I'm finally out of there though so it's now a non-issue.
Anyways I picked up Soul Calibur 4 on the day it released and definately did not have it 5 days ahead of time. In the long run, it may end up being a better fighter than the original SC but obviously nothing will ever has as much of an impact as that one did. I can't say much on character balance yet but it looks like they solved the problems in 3 that...honestly i never really noticed. Create-a-character is great and you can make your own costume for every regular character. They already released downloadable content (scam) with old costume parts such as a voldo body suit and some nightmare helmets. I bought the pack for $1.50 because I'm a sucker and it definately didnt break the bank.
Online play isnt perfect on PS3 but it seems worth playing at least. I really need to collect gold and I don't want to do any more of that single player stuff. The tower of souls is a BITCH and so cheap that you have to use the best equipment possible with all those stupid stats to get anywhere. I plan on playing some more multiplayer tonight. Oh yeah, you can also choose a randomly generated character when you battle and that can yield some very interesting results such as "Afro Tira," a skinny old man with an afro, underpants, and Nightmare's spine. |

Hmm, temping... but first I want to get PJ Eden. The demo was cool, but even that reminded me, why are PJ games so damn hard? It's like hey, give us 10 bucks so we can frustrate and piss you off! Thanks.
Downloadable content is a huge scam. I always wondered who actually bought that shit, just like I wondered when I saw those ads for ringtones/wallpapers... And the 'legit' downloadable stuff like new maps is outrageously priced. 10 bucks for 3 maps? Uh, no. I'll just get PJE. Though I just did spend way more than just 1.50 on just lunch...
The AIM app will be even nicer once the next version adds Push capabilities and it doesn't have to be running in the foreground to get messages... I've been trying to find even faster ways to drain my iPhone battery as it is.
So did you sell Rudre and escape the evil place? |

Geometry Wars 2 is neat. I tend to play these Live Arcade games for maybe 2 days before I get bored and...thats pretty much the case here. However I will go back at some point since its a good time. They also put the friends leaderboards right on the main page for all 6 modes. It really makes you want to keep playing and kick all their asses.
I wouldn't really complain about Braid's $15 price tag if it wasnt for the fact that a couple levels were really frustrating. It's like a watercolor Mario without all the polish. Don't get me wrong, it is very polished, but the controls aren't quite what I expect to feel in a platformer. I still might buy it. |

Not sure what Braid is, but $15 doesn't sound outrageous... Compared to $60? Or anything on WiiWare? Seriously, WiiWare has been a huge disappointment so far. I've bought about 10 games off PSN now, downloadable games are great. But WiiWare? No. Come on Nintendo... Maybe Strongbad will finally change that.
Though I still need to get Edan, stupid iPhone is just too addicting to fool around with still... so that takes up all my free time these days:) |

Well Castle Crashers was totally worth $15. I only played 2 player but I'm hoping to get some 4 player going at some point. I really like that you seem to gain experience through damage and not kills. It helps when playing in groups. There's a lot of...poop humor.
I've been playing a lot of Tales of Vesperia this past week. It came out a freakin DAY after Disgaea 3 so I'll be going back to that after I finish. If you've played Symphonia, you know what to expect from the battle system and overall game world. I don't think I'll ever like a tales game more than Symphonia (sequel in November!) but this is still a damn fine RPG. I really like how the main character is 21 and not 15 like 95% of everything that Japan makes. He also seems down to earth without being a typical hero or anti-hero. One thing Tales games always seem to have is some sort of racism, but I havent seen it here yet. There's potential for it though.
We're getting close to the RUSH period of game releases so it's going to be impossible to play everything coming out. I may have to pass on Infinite Undiscovery. |

I'm tempted to get The Last Guy. The demo is pretty cool. I like the idea and it's simple, stupid fun... and only 10 bucks.
Also, Monkey Ball iPhone has been updated! Nice. The controls have been tweaked a bit, but it's still too damn sensitive. The tiniest mistake and you're still fucked... and I still can't get past level 46:( Oddly since it is Monkey Ball afterall, I've grown to at least like it.
I think the only non-download game I plan on getting this fall (or any time soon) is Little Big Planet. Well, maybe Mirrors Edge. I'm not complaining, I actually like these 10 dollar a pop (or less) download games way more anyway.... |

Well I guess I didn't buy this game, but I have been playing LittleBigPlanet the past couple days. Overall I'd say it's fun. Something to pop in, go online, and play a level someone has made with random people.
I don't think you'll see me making anything. I don't know if I have time/patience to sit through all those tutorials they force on you, let alone time/patience to put it to use.
The controls are a bit floaty, but it's simple fun. The whimsical atmosphere of the game is awesome. And the Hitchhikers Guide-esque narrator just adds to it. I'll probably buy it when it comes out. Probably.
EDIT: Wow, while not really a "game" level if people come up with creative stuff like this then LBP might be really cool. All this level is (I think) you jump on a cart and as it flies by it hits switches or something and causes Sweet Child of Mine to play. Nice. Now if only I could figure out how to take in game screenshots (if you can...).
