Seriously, that seems really cool. The word "innovative" is thrown around WAAAY too much these days so its lost all meaning, but I havn't seen a game quite like that. I can't wait to see what they do with the new Team Fortress.

Valve/Steam/whatever is finding some good shit. The Source engine owns all. Fuck the better looking Doom III or even the Unreal engine where all the games (so far) look and play the same.

There's also this game currently on Steam called The Ship where you are given the name of another player that you have to find and murder without anyone else seeing you do it... I may have to check that one out for only 20 bucks.

That shit was cool as hell. That looks seriously awesome. Shoot a portal in the ground below and jump down, use your momentum to shoot yourself higher than you could have previously gone! And those infinite loops were fun to watch, like the mechanical gunner bouncing in and out of two side by side portals.

I'm not slow... but it seems that Portal game (AND Team Fortress Classic 2!) are set to be released as part of the Half-Life 2: Ep 2 package (PC/360/PS3). Nice. Especially if it's still only 20 bucks, a big if I'm guessing (which reminds me, I still need to play Ep 1...)

Also seems that portal game is from a group of DigiPen students who did a similiar (and cruder) game for a project. Valve saw it and picked them up for Portals. (I got all this from watching this weeks The 1Up Show. It was actually pretty cool and interesting. Worth checking out.)

I just played a demo for "Lost Planet" on the 360 today. Just when I was beginning to think that I'd given up on super high quality graphics and games with guns, this guy shows up. I download it on my newly owned 360. It's made by Capcom, so there was a good chance it would provide awesome action. It's basically a 3rd person shooter on a snowy planet. You have to kill spider-like aliens that remind me of Starship Troopers. There's also these pirate guys I don't know much about. Oh and you can get in a mech every now and then. I found the non-mech parts to be the most fun.


The graphics are insane and it kind of makes me wish I had a widescreen hdtv instead of my boring 480p set. Maybe I'm just a sucker for sweet, sweet action but I found tugging around massive guns and seeing lots of crap and aliens explode to be intense. I haven't been this blown away by a game demo since the Twilight Princess last year.


The bastard aint coming until January and already the package seems so complete. Did I mention you get a badass grappling hook that hooks onto ANYTHING? INCLUDING ENEMIES!

If you want a pretty looking shooter you should try Half-Life 2 in the meantime. And then you can play Episode One on your 360 when it gets ported. Lucky you!

1) Not only has Hybrid completely sold out, but he's starting to realize why the Wii will suck...

2) Nearly 2 years later and HL2 is still the best shooter one can buy.

I know a lot is coming out, but I don't really know WHAT. I know I'll be getting warioware and lost planet in January, but I don't know when exactly Zelda: PH is coming out. I forget when Phoenix Wright is. January? I know you can import it for about the same price and just change the language (and logo) to english. I'll wait.

Later in the year we get 3 huge Nintendo franchises, but what else is coming to the wii? Aside from the Metal Slug I will be picking up this weekend, what Wii games are coming out that are worth buying and NOT made by Nintendo? Dragon Quest? What the hell is Capcom up to?

Oh let's not forget God of War 2. I think that'll be out around February. I guess there's also Rogue Galaxy that I might get.

I hope we have a 2 month draught so I can get back to catching up on games I've never opened/played/beaten.

I'm just going to keep going here...after I beat Castlevania (which is soon), I will go back to FFXII, then maybe Tales of the Abyss. Oh crap I have a ton of christmas/graduation stuff coming my way. Damnit.

Ubi Soft is the new Capcom... except for some reason even though they are usually a good publisher, they feel the need to dump a whole lot of shit on the Wii...

Nintendo really needs to get some "Touch Generation" type games out for Wii, and soon, to keep up this momentum with the mainstream crowd before they all realize what crap is all just available... I hope they don't wait until fall to release all 3 of those Wii blockbusters.

If Jan/Feb really is as slow as it usually is, might be a good time to check out a few PS2 games I've missed... FF12? Okami? SotC?

Even my sister's retard nintendo-hating boyfriend wants a Wii now. My putting one aside for her should be my damn christmas pressent! I don't think this new breed of gamers really wants the huge Nintendo titles. They need fully fleshed out sports and fishing games...which is actually sort of a sport. Wii Play and Warioware will be exactly what these new guys are looking for. Then you have the huge Nintendo games starting off with Metroid. Of course, if Prime 3 sells like 2, it won't really matter at all. Mario will be another huge one. Dumbass 20-somethings will be like "man they're finally making mario games again. I used to play that shit all the time!" Yes because there was no Mario game for the last TWENTY YEARS!! I am of course basing this off of last year's reactions to the DS game.

I think Wii will be fine, but for US, well we do need some meaty games.

Why is it other people (who don't even have one) like the Wii more than I do (and I do have one). Is that a bad sign? Right now as I see it all Wii has going for it is Zelda and the hope developers/publishers/Nintendo figure out how to properly use the Wii like they did the DS. I just hope it doesn't take a year and a half this time...

I'm still impressed with the way Nintendo has grabbed the mainstream/non-gamers attention. But everything with Wii right now is geared to them (except oddly the game selection which right now is just Zelda, overpriced VC games, and shit). And Zelda was thrown in for others to say hey, we'll occasionally have a crappy controlled real game for you to play too! Nice.

Except for GripShift I haven't bought a new game since November. That's about to change....

Deal of the week is Rainbox Six Vegas (PS3) preorder for only 40 bucks on Amazon. I had been thinking I might eventually pick this up since it got great reviews on 360 (9+), and for 40 bucks I figured that time might as well be now (or should I say when it releases at the end of March). And while I was at it I ordered VF5.


Before the end of March I also plan on getting Motorstorm (and maybe a couple d/l games like Calling All Cars) so I have PS3 covered.
