I'll be picking up VF5 as well. No online play sucks but then, I've played fighting games online and THEY sucked too. I own VF4 evo but I never really got into it. I hope to rectify that with an excuse to play a PS3 game on my PS3.

I wish I could just talk about the games I recently bought in THIS thread, but you know...this is for hyping things. God of War 2 looks amazing and I should have a demo within the next...1-3 days.

Sonic and his rings look to be the best 3D sonic since the critically acclaimed (A+ reviewed) SA2. One day Sega will make a Sonic game with ONLY the good stuff and realize that padding their games with other characters and worthless missions does NOT make it better. I hear the regular levels are great but then you have to do some inane missions that can be frustrating and just not fun in general.

A week after Sonic and VF5 comes SSX Blur which I think I'll be picking up. That will be like my 8th game bought in the month of February. Amazing.

So anyone going to pick up Motorstorm? Seems crazy that there is only ONE offline mode, but it sounds cool enough along with the online stuff to maybe get a purchase from me. We'll see what this week brings.

Though everyone is getting Calling All Cars I'm sure. That and God of War 2. That's some week for Jaffe.


Cool to see Resistance getting some additions. Oddly the new modes, which seem more interesting than two new maps, is free but the map pack won't be... but if I'm not busy with another game come May I may have to check it out.

I'm not sure what to make of Warhawk now. Seems like they took it and changed it into a Battlefield clone. Could be cool though since I did like Battlefield. If it's cheap enough or has something to separate it from the pack might be worth keeping an eye on.

I've gotten like 8 games... in the past 6 months.

I've had to listen to that Motorstorm demo 5 times a week, since November...so no I don't plan on buying it. I mean I hear it has little to no game modes and very few tracks. I think that the song in the demo alone has completely turned me off from it.

I don't plan on getting Calling All Cars. I also don't think Jaffe had much to do with God of War 2. I think he had as much influence on GOW2 as Miyamoto had on Metroid Prime 2. Regardless, the demo rocked my socks and I should be getting it the THIRTEENTH since our store has so many reserves.

This isn't so much a game but you can do Folding@Home now on your PS3! Which is more interesting just from a technical standpoint than anything (since I'm not really sure what they hope to accomplish with the data they gather).

It's nice free advertising for the Cell since so far it's proving what a beast it is. When I checked about 160,000 PCs were contributing about 150 teraflops. About 25,000 PS3s were contributing over 500 teraflops. Wow. (Not as impressive as the average from a GPU but still very impressive.)

I don't see myself leaving my PS3 on like I do my PC when I'm not using it so this can run, but it's still a cool idea. I've done 1 WU so far!

I dont think it needs anymore hyping but sweet mercy Smash Bros Brawl is getting awesomely out of control. Looks like that and Mario Galaxy will be what makes me pick up the Wii....congrats nintendo you got me again.

YOU DONT HAVE A WII???

Ive seen just about any brawl video available on the internets. I'm crazy. If Im not working in the morning, I stay up the extra half hour/hour until 3AM to catch the weekdaily update. If I AM working that morning, I just check it first thing in the morning. I've been reading the E for All tournament hands on stuff as well as watching all the youtube videos being posted from it. They're delivering on so many fronts that I really shouldnt complain about the lack of voice chat.

Here's a couple tidbits that arent featured on anything other than random forum posts:

-some characters have alternate costumes such as:

Fox - Star Wolf
Samus - Phazon Suit (prime 1), fusion suit
Link - Dark Link

-you can now jump after an air dodge which means 99% less accidental deaths as fox
-Fox and Peach are nerfed
-Bowser is GOOD
-story mode seems to follow 2 teams (at least at first) where you meet new 'mate along the way
-gameplay speed is more akin to smash bros 64. Other 64 parallels would be character intros on screen and the victory screen

Metroid Corruption is the only Wii game at this moment for me that would justify buying a Wii when for the most part I will be the only one playing it. When it comes to big groups and Wii parties I already have friends who own it. Actually Brawl screams Wii party as well meaning I will prolly play it more with others than alone, but Galaxy will probably pull me over. Then again I may just miss out on the whole era. My DS has been good to me.

Isn't Brawl delayed until next year now? Yeah, I was pretty pissed when I heard that. I really, really want to find a good 4 player game for Wii. All we have now is Wii Sports and Monkey Ball mini-games. Any suggestions???


Right now the only Wii game I plan to get this year is Mario Galaxy of course. And well I plan on picking up either Guitar Hero 3 or Rock Band, and if it is GH3, I need to then figure out for which system... I wish Rock Band was coming to Wii.

Yeah customers ask me about good multiplayer games for the wii and I just pause for a minute and can't really come up with anything. Lately Ive been telling people to get Mario Strikers as it's pretty decent and Wii Play since it's essentially a $10 collection of mediocre to average games.

The last wii game I got was Zack & Wiki. I just started playing it a couple days ago and it's very good...but that is for another thread. If you're not picking up Fire Emblem next week, you are part of the problem.

I was going to list the wii games I'll be playing this year to show you people that there really are some decent titles coming, but instead I will list EVERYTHING I'll be playing this year since it is the hype thread after all. (Note that "playing this year" doesnt necessarily mean "worth buying.")

We rented Mario Strikers, seemed like a fun multiplayer game. But if that's it, that's sad... Nintendo needs to get on that quick.

I have no clue what I might get the rest of the year. Mario Galaxy is a given, but after that... I guess I'm part of the problem because I really hadn't thought to much about getting Fire Emblem. And Ive never even heard of Ghost Squad.

Don't confuse me with To... err, nevermind. By We I just meant the people I work with. For one of our Wii Days, we rented the game as a team building activity, or some BS reason like that.

When your ps3 list is larger than xbox360 something is wrong.

Curious, why Assasins creed for ps3 instead of 360? Just wondering, I dont know the differences.

Yeah I know, it's crazy that ps3 is finally getting games! My ratio of 360 to ps3 games right now is still 2:1 (8:4).

I plan on getting Assassin's Creed for whichever system it runs better honestly. Right now I plan on the ps3 version as from what I know, it will run better. Also if I have to make a distinction, I'll take the slightly better visuals if they DO exist. I could really care less about achievements.

I still need to get Ratchet and Clank, if for no other reason than its the best looking game I've seen yet (I'm a sucker for more cartoony graphics than the gritty Gears of Wars type). Well that and I need something for PS3 other than PSN games. So that, Orange Box, and Wii is getting Mario Galaxy. And that about wraps up what I'm getting the rest of the year I think. We'll see...
