I've learned that the best way to get people to post in general is to make topics with capital letters. I planned on doing this a while back, but I only recently remembered to do it WHILE I was on the forums. I think that discussing games coming out used to be part of nbrid, and I'd like to dedicate this topic to games you're excited about or even just curious about. If there's new info to be shared, like the minigame where Link helps a pregnant woman in peasant garb in the new zelda (seriously) then say something about it.

Today I'll hype up something solely because I just saw a video and it's looking pretty badass. You may have heard of Namco X Capcom before. Now it WOULD be nice to combine 2 of the greatest fighting developers' characters into one game, but this is actually a realtime strategy. Battles take place in a horizontal fashion much like advance wars, but it's all set on 3d grid like FF Tactics or Disgaea. I think I read there are over 200 characters from both Namco and Capcom. Judging from the video, the game is all about fan service, but the battles look pretty damned exciting and I may have detected an importance in button pressing for super combos. So it's got great 2d graphics (on a modern day system!), lots of likable characters, anime cut scenes, and just overall crazy looking. That's my hype for today. You can find this trailer here: http://gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=1561

Of officially announced games, the only game I'm really looking forward to is of course Zelda. Other than that, I don't know what else is there. I only have a GC, but even if I got a PS2 there's what, FF? Kingdom Hearts 2? SOCOM? Yawn... Well, I would like to play God of War still and there's SC3 too I guess.

Otherwise, like I've said elsewhere, I think right now I'll just wait for the next-gen. Once E3 comes maybe I'll have more games to add to this very short list (coughxbox360gamescough... I loved how in the last EGM PD0 was listed 6 on the most wanted list and set for a Nov 05 release on XBox 2... Im not crossing my fingers, but if it is... add that to my list right along side Zelda).

Prince of persia 3 details have been throw up on gamespot right here http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/04/25/news_6122930.html I think this game is going to be awesome unless they pull a bastard ass EA move and take out everything that is awesome about the game (the puzzles) and just make it some mindless fighting action/adventure title. Since I loved both the previous ones this will be a must buy for me and hopefully I can play it at E3 however the second put the puzzle combat ratio at about 50/50. I would like to see puzzles take on a bigger role again and still give me some awesome fighting and cool boss fights but I guess we shall see.

I don't see how they could lean MORE towards combat this time. I would assume they'd emphasize puzzles more and explore possibilities in that respect since they've already improved upon the combat. Then again, I still have to beat prince 1 and OPEN the second one. I swear I'll beat both by this summer...

Oh yeah, I should probably say that the latest Zelda info has gotten my interest. Link talks to animals? Possibly lots of underwater stuff? This reminded me of my initial response to the end of wind waker: Hyrule is now flooded? Does that mean the next Zelda may take place mostly underwater and Zoras play a heavy role this time?

Well I really don't think my hypothesis is correct, but just thinking about the possibilities for grande scale horse battles and (sue me) amazing graphics make me want to play it now, despite all the games I should have beaten before then...

Gotten yoour interest, in a bad way? No real comment on talking to animals... but lots of underwater stuff? BOO! My least favorite level in OOT was the Water Temple. I'm not a fan of underwater stuff in any game since developers seem to think the way to simulate water is by slowing everything down.

I'm just hoping for a cool story at this point. One that links to past games. Well that and up the number of enimies/battles. My biggest knock on the 3D Zeldas (OOT, MM, TWW) were I thought the enimies were too sparse.

Battles seem more important this time around and judging from the setting, scope, and little story details, it looks like things will be pretty epic. The new EGM cover (at ign somewhere...) has a really nice piece of artwork showcasing link, the wolf, and some guy/girl in a cloak. If you look close, it looks kind of like a female nose and skin tone...but then there's tons of androgony in anime so that means nothing!

Don't worry Conn, I'll tell you how good (or bad) it is in a few weeks.

Continuing the trend of hyping games, I'll hype up Grandia 3. To this day, I'd say Grandia 2 has the most enjoyable turn-based battle system I've ever played. I never felt like the AI was cheating me too much as long as I planned what I was doing. If you know how to attack, the game can be pretty easy, but if you don't you could get womped by special attacks.

Anyways this was announced weeks ago, but Square-Enix (publisher of a Game Arts game for some reason) just released a trailer for it. I'm sure it's on gametrailers so go look! The battle system seems similar with new improvements like more enemies and aerial attacks. The landscapes look amazing and the characters are a decent anime style too. There weren't any cinemas in the trailer, but since the ones in Grandia 2 were pretty sad (by today's standards obviously) I don't think it will matter too much. I don't know if you level up eggs or anything either. This should interest both Conn AND bone. See, you really need a ps2.

OMG, teh new Zelda looks BADAZZ!!!!!!!

All Turboness aside, That Namco X Capcom is looking nice.
Conker looks to be pretty fun, (which I'll be playing on XBL on day one).
castleVania : Curse Of Darkness (PS2)and castleVania DS are both definate purchases for me, being a castleVania fiend.
I'm also interested in this new trend of land mark movie games, Jaws, Scarface, The Godfather, From Russia with Love, and Warriors.

Perfect Dark Zero is a long shot. I doubt we see it for a while. If they show anything at E3 besides Conker, it'll probably be "Grabbed By The Goulies... Again".

Damn, another DS owner on this forum? I guess there's someone around here I can play animal crossing and [hopefully] mario kart with.

I don't know how a game that is very similar in ever iteration (Castlevania) can be so damn fun every time! Ok so I never really played the ps2 game because I heard it wasn't great, but ever since SotN, all great games.

Greatest title ever for a game..."Grabbed by the Ghoulies..again!", Man...that title is a helluva' lot better than.."Nightcaster: Defeat the Darkness" or the Uber Lameness of Sudeki[ Wait, why do I own them both?!? stupid trades], Microsoft has had some stupid names for their games!!

A game I want to hype: Dragon Warrior 8!! Being an rpg fan, and hearing how awesome this game was in japan even gets me more excited! Plus the Director of the game promised new bad guys, more gameplay, new locations! Woot!! Then again..there still isn't a release date for it..*sigh*.

I haven't bought a DS yet, but when castleVania comes out, I'll have to get one. The thought of a 64-bit sidescrolling castleVania makes meh peepee grow...
I liked Lament of Innocence, it was WAY better than I thought it would be, but of course I would have much rather seen what they could do with a 128-bit side scroller though... It was an enormous improvement over the N64 castleVania titles for sure.

That Phantasy Star Universe might interest me if Sega wakes up, and realizes they'd be complete morons if they don't realease it for XBL...

actually they're not exactly morons for not releasing it on Live. 2 reasons why:

1. Xbox sells about 400 units a week in Japan. That's not many.
2. Since Sega uses their own servers and everything is now stored on them, people will have to play $13 bucks a month on TOP of the Live service. That's just too damned expensive.
3. Oh wait a 3rd reason. Sega has their own user profile system that may cause problems for Live gamertag association. Maybe.

JUST GET IT ON PC!

If they made it XBox exclusive, they could use Microsfts servers, which would cut out paying to play a game thats going to be hacked to pieces in a few months like every version of PSO was... The Sega servers have proven to be garbage time and time again. People are getting tired of paying a monthly fee that doesn't seem to go towards keeping the servers updated and hack free.

With the user base XBL has right now due to Halo 2, an unhackable RPG on XBL would be very profitable, and since True Fantasy got cancelled, it would be the only online RPG on XBL besides PSO.
