Saves the Day - Under the Boards. I would give anything I own for one night with Chris Conley.

I'm just posting to express my enjoyment of the new JEW cd. I figured by now they'd start to blow hardcore, but it's definately a step in the right direction. AKA the same direction.

I downloaded Streetlight Manifesto's new one... Somewhere in the Between. And I must say it has a similar sound and tone to their last 'real' album. Which is a good thing, even if a tad too deep at times. Still, even if they are the last ska band out there, this is damn good stuff. I need to listen to it more to see how it really stacks up.

And I'm just kidding about the download part... I wouldn't do that, to a band I really liked. And the new JEW is good.

New JEW constantly finds itself back in my car's cd player. I'm not a filthy filthy lying pirate so I also bought the new Streetlight and find myself enjoying it. One thing I dont find myself listening to as much as I thought I would is the new Motion City cd. It's decent but probably my least favorite of the 3.

Hmm, while all 3 of those are great CDs, I'd still put MCS's new one above JEW's new one. But I'd put Streetlight's above both. I'm really liking this album. At first Mephesto's Cafe stood out as a good track, but as with all good albums, I now think I have a new favorite: the title track, Somewhere in the Between. Good stuff.

Yeah I loved the first track the instant I heard it. You don't really get that too often. I'm not saying the new MCS is bad as it definately displays the same talent they've had in the past. I just don't really prefer the sound as much. Another thing to factor in is that I listen to actual cd's in my car so more catchy stuff gets played on short trips to and from work.

I heard a new Saves the Day song yesterday (now that radio 104 is back and playing on the Zune at work) and it was pretty decent. I actually think I heard it before....though I can't remember the name. Anyways, is the album decent as a whole? I don't really listen to their stuff anymore.

Even if it Kills Me sums up boh the album and where I am in life right now. Both that song and Last Night had me in tears upon my first listen. It is my favorite MCS album. Seeing most of it performed live last week was just an added bonus.

After further review, even though I really, really like the new Streetlight, I may have have to put MCS above it again. Though that may have partially to do with the fact I saw MCS live Friday and they put on a kick ass show... Great albums all around.

Funny you should say it like that Justin. Well, not so funny. The one thing that bugged me about Even if it kills me is because at times it hit a little too close to home...

Proof of Youth by The Go! Team. Hip-hop/funk/soul/jazz in a blender. Completely awesome.

Agreed.

Though it will get to you if you listen to it too long. Works best in loud, short doses. Plus this time they didn't have to 'edit' the album for US release because they couldn't get certain rights... grr. I think the Go Team is a big reason why that first video for LittleBigPlanet was so awesome.

Pfft. The only people who bought the domestic release were jerks and suckers. I remember hearing the edited version of Bottle Rocket and thinking "what the shit?"

Well not all of us do the necessary research before we buy every album we get. Instead we take it home, pop it in, and then wonder, what the fuck is this shit???

Though if I hadn't first hear the 'real' version of bottlerocket I probably would have thought the US version kicked ass...
