So today I got the new Nine Inch fucking Nails album (With_Teeth), and it's pretty damn good. Maybe not a classic like every previous NIN album, but good is good. It's not as artsy as the most excellent Fragile, but it still has some of its feel. Along with a touch of Downward Spiral and even Pretty Hate Machine. I have to listen to it more before I can make a final opinion though. But the mere fact it has Dave Grohl on drums is a HUGE plus.
My only negative is there is no booklet or anything, but it is in the 'classic' cardboard case.
Oh I got the Dual Disc version, it was only 2 bucks more and the album in 5.1 is pretty damn cool. Halo 19 baby... wow.
So far its been a kick ass year for CDs: Mars Volta, Beck, New Order have all had great albums so far. And what's this? Next week is Weezer!?!?! Nice. Then in June a new Foo Fighters, and I think even before then a new Audioslave and System of a Down. Wow... |

Well I'll just recap on the latest Goldfinger album. The first song is pretty generic but I actually love listening to it. However, the cd as a whole is easily their worst yet. It's not a BAD cd, but it's not even as good as "Open Your Eyes" which wasn't that great either. I guess it goes to show that Charlie's bass really did hold things together.
Oh yeah, the peta craze also continues with song 7 (I don't know too many song titles) quoting some woman talking about animal rights. It's unfortunate because the song is actually pretty decent without that crap. More horns = good.
I'm looking forward to the new Motion City Soundtrack some time this year. |

Weezer's new cd comes out next week?? Hell yeah!! I bought the Deluxe Edition of 'Blue' a couple weeks ago, not a bad purchase, since my original copy of the 'Blue' album was ruined, and the extra disc had Susanne on it!! Yeesss!!
Btw, has anyone else heard their new single yet?? |

| Well this came out in 2003, but today I got Deathcab for Cutie's "Transatlanticisim." I've have this on my hard drive for a while but never thought about buying it for some reason. It's a great cd. One of those mood music cds like JEW's Clarity or The Postal Service (same lead singer in deathcab) "Give Up." Basically great atmosphere, relaxing...and good. Yeah it's kind of hard to describe. |

Double post!!!!!
The only 'old' (as in not from this year) CD I've gotten this year is Arcade Fire's Funeral (all the cool kids have it!). It's actually a pretty darn good album in fact, even if albums like this usually bore me. I said usually not always. |

| I bought American Idiot last week, don't know why it took me so long. Best GD album ever. Got the new Mudvayne CD too, it blows. |

The new Garbage (Bleed Like Me) is actually pretty cool, and I'm not saying that cause they're originally out of Madison... I was disappointed in their previous album, it was 'uninspired', but this new one isn't just the same old garbage. (Sorry, couldn't resist the pun.)
Also, the NIN DVD is cooler than I first thought. It has a video for Hand That Feeds, and a sweet listing of all the Halos. There's also this 'hidden' thing that seems like a teaser for the album... NIN... 3/4/05.... Umm, okay. BTW, Only is the best track on this CD.
Oh, American Idiot is a good CD, but I don't know if I can say it tops the classic Dookie. I would even put Warning before it. I know a lot of people didn't like that one, but it's good! |

"Sunspots" is my favorite track on that disc by far... Then "Everyday Is Exactly the Same"... "Right Where It Belongs", is bad ass as well. I hope like hell he does a remix version of this album.
This is definetly the best CD I've bought this year, besides The Downward Spiral Deluxe Edition. |

Everyday Is Exactly the Same is NiN's most depressing song since Hurt... or Johnny Cash's cover of it. Right Where It Belongs is damn good, a great way to end the album with the crowd and shit, but I still really like Only maybe cause it feels sorta kinds like a throw back to Pretty Hate Machine and that bong rattling bassline is bad ass.
While I really like With Teeth, I'd still put Mars Volta as my fav CD this year... so far. We have a long ways to go.
And my guess is Halo 20 will be some single and then 21 will be Without_Teeth... that or With Fingernails. |
