I can't tell if that's sarcasm, but dammit, PSU is fun! Don't let Hybrid's or Conn's negative attitude push you away. They're just bitter that there characters are so weak.

| I miss PSO. I think I will give this PSU a shot of some kind. Your screens look really nice bone, what kind of system do you have to get it looking so nice? I don't think it'll look as good on my laptop. |

I don't think you really need much to get it to look nice. My computer doesn't seem to sweat as I run it on (almost) max settings. Ive got a 2.2 ghz processor with 1 gig of ram and an ATI X700 video card. A 256 meg card. Ok so it's not a terrible setup either, but if yours was top of the line a couple years ago, you should still be good.
The game can be fun, but since so much content is locked, it's just more of the same over and over again. Having only 4 dungeons before was more acceptable because you didnt have to run all over the place to get there and you were almost always bound to find someone from SEGA IRC chat. Still, I'll keep playing here and there. |

Well, I've been looking at the system requirements. My laptop exceeds the requirements and looks to be on par with the 'recommended' settings. 2.8ghz processor, 512mb of ram, and a 128mb video card. My concern is that the video card is a GeForce FX and that whole line is notoriously underwhelming. I guess I'll find out if it's able to run at the 1680x1050 resolution I'd like to use (yeah right...)
Also, either of you play over a wireless connection? I remember I used to use those free ISPs to play PSO on dialup and for the most part it was fine. Is this one much more taxing on bandwidth or will I suffer due to packet loss? |

| Boy I wish I could play PSU at my awesome 1600-something resolution. Alas the game only support 1028x792, or whatever res is closest to that. On the plus side, it allows for aim usage on the side? Oh and no widescreen mode. |

I know it's late in the game but I still wanted to comment on this.
Games have been coming on DVDs for a while now, it's a simple matter of space. PSU for example is like 5 some gigabytes of data. A dual-layer DVD can hold that no problem, or you could ship it on 8 CDs. With the price drops in DVD manufacturing and a general increase in the size that games and everything else will be, there's really no option as a computer user to be without a DVD drive. You can get a DVD-Rom drive for about just as cheap as a CD drive, so it's a pretty small upgrade that'll still be viable for a few years to come yet.
Congrats on the burner though. I got my DL DVD+/-RW last January and I use it all the time. Well, until I traded my PC for a laptop. But the guy threw in a USB 2.0 dvd burner so it's like the same thing. |

Cool, and yeah, PSU is hardly a system taxing game. My system is like 16 or so months old now (AMD 2.4ghz, 1 gig ram, GeForce 6800GT) and it can run it on high near flawlessly (60 fps) at 1280x1024, with a few other things running. Same goes for the bandwidth. PSU has the occasional hiccups, but nothing bad. And unless your wifi router is crap or your net connection amazing, playing an online game over wifi isn't much of a difference, if any, over wired.
Universe 3 is where Phratellee like to hang out, but this isn't WoW so you can change at will. Maybe he'll run into a "Psydd" if he can Discover a way out of his predicament... I just hope you realize the key part of PSU's suggested requirements is the gamepad... |

| Gears of War is pretty cool, though me and my friend made it bout halfway thorugh game in bout 2 hours. Maybe more of a rental. |

So yeah, I haven't played in a week and I won't be able to for another week (good thing I'll have Wii and EBA to keep me busy...). I do want to get back to this, and not just because I'm paying a whole 10 bucks a month, but because I do enjoy it and I want to play the new areas/quests they opened this week! |
