Jack's back, and we need a new thread about it! So yeah, spoilers ahoy! (Once a show has officially aired it's free game so no bitchin!)
Nice and action packed so far, and lots of US bombings, and while there have been a couple twists nothing is really a surprise. Well, a Palmer being President again is. Otherwise it seems to follow the formula of past 24's, which of course isn't a bad thing. Political BS, random people who you know will soon become involved, Jack going against CTU, Jack killing a few people, ect...
And we all know what's in that package "Kumar" took out of his wall... |

Looks like this time 24 is going after Jack's mental stability. That mini-ep for season 6 on season 5's DVD hinted at that. And then this week he was about to quit when... yeah. He sure has gone from a weakling back to badass in under 4 hours so we'll see if it lasts.
The only thing that bugs me is that it seems WAY too many people know about the doings transpiring. And I don't mean people know about things exploding, I mean all the people who seem to know about the existence of the "5 visitors". |

| I really didn't see that coming. His BROTHER!? They didn't reveal that last season did they? Do they plan on saying that every single attack in the last 10 years was organized by this man and his group? That would be both lame and awesome! Of course, that's exactly what 24 is anyways. |

| I don't think they've ever mentioned anything about Jack's family except his daughter (and wife in the first season). I will admit I didn't see that coming, I don't know how anyone could. I'll also say I'm not quite sure what to make of it... After a great first 4 eps, this last one has me going, hmm... |

On the plus side my hopes that those guys in the internment (or whatever the hell they called it) camp were in fact just wannabe terrorists came true.
On the bad side, where is that going to lead now? Are we going to have to hear the Presidents sister bitch about it the next 18 hours? And all this stuff with Jack's family, not sure I'm liking it. We'll see where it leads but after a kick ass first 4 eps these last 2 were decidedly 'meh'. |

I know I haven't posted much in this thread just because while 24 is still entertaining, it just lacks a bit compared to past seasons. It certainly hasn't lived up to the first 4 episodes from this season. Maybe it will get more interesting again after that last episode...
At least it doesn't annoy me like Lost. It's just gone downhill from season 1 even if season 3 is better than 2. The problem now (despite this week's show) is the focus is only on 3 characters. WTF? Plus I used to be curious about what really was going on. Now not so much. At least the themes of faith, fate, saved/lost are still there...
But I digress. The Office (and even still Scrubs) is where it's at. |

I almost had a "I can't believe he did that!" momment when Jack cut off the guy's finger. Then I remembered the many worse things he's done over the years. I couldn't believe that Russian guy was actually going to help jack, but then I immediately realized it was 24 and this man was going to die very soon.
So I guess Curtis died for nothing. |

Wow, I didn't even think of that. Grr! It's like the Tony fiasco all over again! It used to be characters went out with a bang. Sigh/ |

he went out with a bang. What the hell sound do you THINK a gun makes?
I wish I didn't watch Fox any other day besides Monday because I had to deal with them hyping up that SHOCKING momment to the point where it was so obvious when it happened. I actually assumed something like that was going to happen. It would have been a whole lot better if I wasn't expecting it. Still...batshit insane lady.
Nothing will ever be more shocking than when Terry died. I mean the first season easily had the most surprises because none of it had been done before. Runner ups include stabbing that guy with a pen, killing that witness to go undercover, Nina killing that CTU chick making it look like suicide, and of course David Palmer being shot last season.
While not as shocking for anyone with a short term memory, Edgar's death was very sad . Robocop killing Tony still pisses me off. |

Cutting off his partners hand to get out of a pair of handcuffs attached to a bomb was a cool way to end that one season. The movie Saw was based entirely on that concept!
But killing off Terry was easily the most fucked up way to end a season, but like James Bond it just wouldn't have worked if Jack was a married man.
Up yours Robocop! |

Sigh... I'm hoping at the end of this season Jack wakes up and it turns out he is still in a Chinese prison cell.
I mean huh? The President was in a coma, near death and then BAM! He's wide awake and coherent? Right... |

Hey look! The seasons over! What a surprise that the ending would suck. He's gone dark again... until next season when he's right back at the same thing.
At least it didn't suck as much as those last two episodes of Lost. Wow were those hard to watch... fuck you ABC. I don't need to watch TV to make me feel depressed. |

1. these shows ended years ago.
2. charlie could have easily escaped from that explosion, but i'll just accept that he did it because of "fate" or some bullshit |
