I was going through some stuff the other day and happened upon a CD case full of Dreamcast games. I managed to make it through the PSO loading screen before coming to my senses and realizing my time would be better spent donating blood, semen or both at once. Moving that glimmering speck of light around the screen did get me nostalgic though, so I figured I'd check and see if you all were still keeping it on the Internet.
So what are you cats up to these days? Anything the inquisitive minds who read Collier's Weekly would find interesting? Still gaming? Listening to semi-obscure rock and/or roll bands? Flying a starfighter at the behest of a sentient alien race as the last hope for the survival of our galaxy? Get any new pets?
I still write. I'm working on a book proposal for National Lampoon (so you KNOW its going to be good!) and infrequently updating my website. I don't play very many games anymore unless they're either simple or I've got friends over. I've been spending most of the time I'd use gaming to read books instead. I don't know if you're familiar with the technology, but it's a pretty fringe industry and I think if enough people get behind it, it could really take off as a medium.
in conclusion i feel that george washington was a good president and if he were still alive today i would vote him for president because he never told a lie and deftly sailed across the mighty plutomic river
Sorry, that's a term paper I'm working on. Disregard it. I guess I'm done condensing three years into five paragraphs. I don't know if any of you dudes use MySpace, but feel free to drop me a line at myspace.com/keasbey_mornings.

Where to begin.... so yeah. How's it goin'! Wait, are you dieing or something? So random...
With summer upon us I'm trying to find a few things to read, like The Big Over Easy for example. I'm finding after 2 years spending 9+ hours a day in front of a computer monitor (or should I say 2 of them) the last thing I want to do is go back to my place and stare at a monitor or even my TV, unless its to watch 24 or the Office.
That's not to say I don't play any games (I need to justify that wii and ps3 purchase somehow), just usually these days I like a game I can play 15-20 minutes, space out, and be done.
Living in a college town of sorts we get the occasional interesting band, though the last 2 CDs I bought were from Arcade Fire and Nine Inch Nails, both of which kick ass though.
I think I'm about done talking to myself since no one else will respond I bet (well, maybe Thomas....). That Lampoon book better be good because god knows MySpace sucks ass...
UPDATE: OK, so I couldn't resist. I like your Television Interests... |

MySpace is neat. It allows me to keep up with family members in Iraq while imposing musical preference upon people at the same time. It's win/win!
If you have the means, pick up Gates of Eden by Ethan Coen (yeah, THAT Ethan Coen). It's a nice collection of short stories; almost all of which would make for an awesome movie. Clive Clevenger's Contortionist's Handbook is really good too if you're into Chuck Palahnuik's stuff. I let a friend of mine borrow it and she said she cried after finishing because there were no more pages to read. Girls are sissies. I can assure you that my book won't be anything more than "Justin pays the rent," though, as they're imposing all of these guidelines regarding target demographics and how most of the people buying it are going to be borderline illiterate. I've become a tool of the man.
I've bought more albums so far this year than I did during the entirety of 2006. of Montreal, Ted Leo, Piebald, the Shins and Fall Out Boy (yes) have put out awesome albums and I've still got Streetlight, BOTAR, Saves the day and Motion City Soundtrack on the horizon. I'm hoping the Decemberists manage to maintain their "new material every year" pace, and for the outside chance of some new Format stuff.
It's sad, but I've all but given up on 24. This year's agonizing mid-season stretch of terrible episodes were too much for me and Heroes is just so, so good.
And I hear you about the games. It isn't so much that I don't want to play them as I've just found myself disinterested in a lot of what's being released. RPGs I might once have enjoyed just seem hokey and trite now.
*edit*
oh god and Sufjan. I would kill a man for some new Sufjan. With my bare hands if that's what it'd take. |

My turn!! Sorry Bone no Thomas just me.
Whats up Justin. Long time!
Im listening to stuff. ONe of these days ill check into all tese bands youve guys have been recommending for years. I am excited about the new Linkin park album...yes I still love Linkin Park...dont hate.
The video game thing is the same for me. Last new game I got was Twilight Princess for GC. School and work and lollying around the streets of San Fran have taken much of my time. My Ds still gets some good game time though.
Ive never once seen a full episode of 24 yet...I figure its too late to start, but hey I scored free tickets to see Conan O brian when he comes to San Fran for a week..Awesome!
Besides film which is why im in school ive gotten really into learning Japanese. I plan to head to toukyou in July for some intensive study.
At the risk of giving Bone more ammo against me I shall say farewell for now.
p.s. I like myspace. http://www.myspace.com/conndestn |

| The porn bots are awesome. It's hilarious to check their profiles and look for people who befriend them in earnest. The sincere comments like "dam baby u soooo fly~! holla back@me in a minute" are concurrently the most hilarious and depressing things I've ever read. |

Holyshit... Klam posting on the NBrid forums... wow.
How do it be going Justin? You still "in" the Sega Devils? Agreed, I find those porn bots tragic and funny as well. Every once in a while, I break down, and accept the friend request, only to leave a comment on how much of a tool these people are, but it's done out of boredom... and odviously in vein. I'm at www.myspace.com/soulburn if anyone wants to flatter me... you can also add my sex goddess... www.myspace.com/2real4yallbitches

I read these posts backwards... So when I saw Conn mention he was afraid to say he liked Linkin Park I thought, that's ok I'm a big Fall Out Boy fan... Then sure enough a post early, Fall Out Boy! Yeah haters be damned, Infinity on High is a great album.
I never knew the one of the Coen brothers could be so talented...
Look at all those MySpace links... My real name is Ashley Washington. Oh wait, no. That's my porn name (I'll let you figure out what that means).
Nice contribution to the thread Tork. |

I still post on the SD forums under the name Sugar Blaster! I haven't done any online gaming since... well, Dreamcast actually.
And yeah, Fall Out Boy are awesome. Anyone who says otherwise either doesn't have an ear for really good pop music or are still in a state of counter-culture denial. Patrick Stump is ridiculous in the studio and he's going to be an amazing producer in the upcoming years. I've never understood how people can have trouble deciphering his vocals either, but I guess listening to as much hardcore music as I have has seasoned me a bit. |

Some of the posted 'lyrics' for Sugar we're going down are hilarious. Keeps me from hating that song (since otherwise its the one FOB song that irks me since it was so overplayed).
Where is SGKrot when we need him...
The next person to post a link to MySpace will be punished. If you want to read posts on how much life sucks just let me know. I can go on all day on how much my job hates me... |

| Hey Bone, have you heard the new Modest Mouse album yet? If so, do you think that "Missed the Boat" is the greatest song ever, or simply the greatest song of the decade? |

Hmm, does it beat Arcade Fire's Neighborhood? Broken Social Scene's 7/4 Shoreline? Metric's Live it Out? The New Pornographer's The Laws Have Changed? no. No. NO. NO!
A song has to at least beat Canada's best, even if it is a really good song, to even think about 'best' of anything/ There I said it. |

awe, my computer dies for a week and I miss the hubub.(sp?)
24 sucks and I hope everyone dies...and then comes back for another season as zombies.
I play more games than ever and I am totally wasting my college education working at Gamestop (STILL) Though the only real online gaming I do at the momment is Gears of War once or twice a week.
I still have your Eternal Darkness. |
