The "official" Nbrid chat room is located on Sega's IRC server.  These rooms are the busiest at night (10PM Eastern and later).  To see a listing of all our affiliated chat rooms on Sega's server, check out the Affiliates section.

During a period when our members kept getting Klined <cough>Hybrid<cough>, we 'temporarily' moved our chat room to this server.  While we have moved it back to irc.sega.com, we enjoyed our stay at irc.nintendonext.com so much we still frequent the server.  So if you check out the 'official' rooms on Sega's servers, and find no one to talk to, check out these rooms.

Are you on a PC? 

Since all chat links on this site only work on a Dreamcast (all pwchat://... links), to access our rooms on a PC we suggest you get yourself a good IRC program (none of that 'java chat' garbage for us!).  mIRC comes highly suggested.  Follow the steps below to connect using mIRC... 

1. If you don't already have mIRC, get it here..., and then install it.
2. Start mIRC, and in File->Options, click on the 'Connect' category.  Enter your "Full Name", "E-Mail Address", and "Nickname".  (Note: it doesn't have to be your real name or email address)
3. Then still in File->Options, click on the 'Connect' category again, and select 'Add'.  Enter the following information:
   1. For a Sega chat room
      1. Description: Sega chat room
      2. IRC Server: irc.sega.com
      3. Port(s): 6667
      4. Group: Nbrid
      5. Password: <leave this blank>
   2. For a NN Chat Room
      1. Description: NN chat room
      2. IRC Server: irc.damaged.net
      3. Port(s): 6667
      4. Group: Nbrid
      5. Password: <leave this blank>
   3. Hit 'Add' once you have entered in the above information. 
4. Make sure that the server you want to connect to is showing in the box on the 'Connect' Options screen, and then click 'Connect to IRC Server'.
5. Once connected, type: /join #Hybrid (or whichever room you wish to enter) in the status window.
6. Congrats!  You're there!  Remember you can change your nickname by typing: /nick newnick, or send a private message by typing: /msg nick message.  

Please note that if you see a message that says the nick you are using is already registered with NickServ (and that you need to either change nicks or type /msg nickserv identify password), you are going to have to choose a different nickname, or you will be disconnected.
