The History of Mario Mario  (U.S.) 

Below you will find a list of every game Mario has made an appearance in so far, and a few other facts. In some of these games, Mario plays a major role. Where as in others, if you don't look carefully, you may miss him! Can you remember where you saw him in these games?


1980
Donkey Kong (arcade): First video game to feature "Mario", but at this time he was called "Jumpman".
 
1982
Donkey Kong, Jr. (arcade): Mario gets the name "Mario".
 
1983
Mario Bros. (arcade): First game to star Luigi.
Mario also appeared in the animated TV series on CBS called "Saturday Supercade."
 
1984
Punch-Out!! (arcade): Mario makes a cameo appearance as the ref.
Donkey Kong 3
 
1985
Mario becomes the official Mascot for Nintendo.
