| Nintendo's official website lists the new SSB Melee as being rated T for Teen. The content descriptors are "Comic Mischief" and "Animated . This is probably because some of the characters look like real people compared to the original game with each fighter having about 3 polygons each. | |

| After hearing that Nintendo currently has no plans to start their online network..we worried that there may not be online games for GC for a long time. Well Peter Main had this to say: "Nintendo is behind any company that wishes to connect their products to the Internet, regardless of whether or not Nintendo themselves are going full bore into the niche market themselves. In this regard, Nintendo would be willing to back such efforts by 3rd parties by providing them with the capability, via Dial up or broadband adapter, to connect to their own networks with Gamecube." | Yeah...they were shown, and as of yet i havent seen it but IGNcube has reported Mario Sunshine is the definate sequel to Mario 64 and Zelda Returns is well..nothing like what we've seen. This could be another Zelda game than what we've seen previously. Why do i say this? The game is cel shaded and appears more toonish. A drastic change from the direction we thought the series was going to with majoras mask. But its Zelda, u cant rule it out until you see it. | |

| Well there are also virtua striker 3, POS v.2, pikmin, Rune, and probably more screens at igncube. I recommend looking at planetgamecube for other screens because they may post them first. | Well posting screens isn't my bag so Ill just describe stuff. Basically the character model seems to match the fmv shots except its less smooth and seems to have less polygons. I think this is because anti aliasing hasnt been implemented yet (same as Waverace at E3). But I think in a year the game will come close or even match the fmv quality graphics. You seem to explore as Samus and shoot in 1st person view. The first level is an ancient ruins level. Now I dont really know the full story about Metroid but seeing as this is a prequel, youll have to figure out the significance of the level. For this and other screens like 1080 2 (woohoo) and Soul Calibur 2...and Sonic 2 (which is definately an early port) check out IGNcube. | |

| Gotta love my professional journalism there...I just found out Starfox Adventures was delayed a few months. I was counting on this to be my temporary Mario substitute. The announcement was made in Nintendo Power, so it's straight from the horse's mouth. The reasons they did this was to polish the story and not degrade from other 1st party sales...still as long as i have melee at launch, i should be happy. | |

| Melee goodness | |
| How many titles can I think up with the word melee in them? Well I'm running out but this update is pretty interesting. 10 new screens were released today, 9 of which focused on Kirby. What we learn from these shots is he still has those hats (thank god) but it appears that the power he steals is slightly weaker than the actual move. For example, the fireball he makes is smaller than Mario's and his gun is smaller than Fox's. If smash bros tradition stands, the gaudier the effects, the more damage. So this could be true. Also a scanned, untainted picture of the final character select screen has been revealed to PGC which reveals there are at least 5 hidden characters in the game (on top of the known 14). Of course there could always be more because there seems to be room for at least 8 more characters if they wanted to cram..19 sounds good though. What are my guesses? Pit, Joanna Dark, Ridley, Gannon, Luigi. I dont see why Wario wouldnt be in this game but maybe Mario and Luigi is too much..Luigi's Mansion seems to be proof Luigi is in the game, and hopefully he'll have some gay...er..homosexual vacuum moves too. I am personally still praying Meta Knight will be playable... | |

| The Soul still burns...again | |
| A long while back I reported Soul Calibur 2 has a great chance of making it to GC..well now I can confirm that it IS coming. The announcement will be made next weekend at the annual Spaceworld show. The game is still pretty early so the screens will most likely be from the arcade version. Another "fighter" has brought up some interest today as well. Screens show a mid air dodge and an evasion move used on the ground in Smash Bros Melee. Also when you are hit, you can direct which way you are hit..sure this may not sound like much, but if you've put enough hours into the original, you know this has significance. Oh and I guess you can use the C stick to move the on screen menus in 3d..not a bad feature. Thanks to IgnCube for the detailed translation. | |
