Book of the Dead text revealed!

This seems like a lame idea, but did you know that in the Evil Dead: Book of the Dead, you can actually read what all that gibberish is? Some people are stupid and think you either can't, or they have all the words wrong. Here's how it really goes, for reference purposes only.

Yeah, I know this is a retarded ass idea. But you'd be surprised how many people can't understand the pretty simple text held within "Book of the Dead." So, here it is, in all it's many glories. A number, naturally, denotes which page the text is found on (Starting with the first page with the 'ancient text' on it).

1 - "Dedicated to those who bled for the Evil Dead and their families, friends and fans - TS (Tom Sullivan)."

3 - "For you scholars out there this is the ancient language of - Bullscrit A.K.A. as 'font of the dead'. I hope you enjoy decoding this as much as I did. Read On...(The text stuck in the block of pictures in the lower half of the page reads "Your Ad Here.")

4 - "I can draw skulls all day long."

5 - "Employees must wash hands before returning to work place. Thanks."

6 - "Bow down before me and beg fo..Hey, it's Sam!"

7 - "Raw - Medium - Well."

8 - "Get a load! Flying Deadites! Tom must be psychic!"

9 - "Visit Lovely Kandar Castle"

10 - "Not scientifically accurate - Gross huh?"

11 - "Been Reel Kids. Make Movies, not war!"

Yes i bought this recently in australia and decoded the book in under an hour it was great fun. I have gone to the trouble of making a full listing of the symbols, but alas not every letter of the dictionary appears in the book so decided to make symbols in a similar vein to Tom Sullivans to round out a full alphabet. It is cool to write things in it as it's very easy with some practice to use and looks cool i suggest any fan of the film to go out and buy a copy awesome!!

Anonymous: Wow...

I never knew that. Hmm, looking at my Evil Dead: Book of the Dead edition, I see where this decoded text comes from, but how did one decode it? Is it a simple figuring out "symbol 1" stands for "C", "symbol 3" is "L", ect? I know Futurama has done that, but they at least gave hints on what letters some symbols stood for. Pretty cool either way. Did Sullivan who did the Book of the Dead write all that too?

I didn't select home cause I didn't see it as much along the lines of news worthy.

I would assume Sullivan wrote all of those things, as he did all the art for the packaging of the DVD.

Decoding it comes pretty easy as soon as you realize that they're words. The only tricky parts are that occasionally there are some symbols which don't appear to mean anything, and double 's' and 'e' have characters of their own.

Man, that sounds kick'n rad. I'm a huge fan of the series, but for some reason I've neglected picking this up. I'm kind of bummed that the fun is gone, because I always make it a point to test my meddle with the daily kryptoquip, but nonetheless, I enjoy fun "off kilter" submissions like this very much.
