America's Army Patch Update
Just as 2 new maps were released a little over a week ago America's Army gets patched bringing some cool new features and a new map...
Two days ago the America's Army devs released a new 28 MB patch that upgrades AA from v 1.21 to 1.30. The upgrade includes 2 features that were in a beta version of AA:
Honor system: You have a level next to your name, it increases and decreases as you play based on your kills, deaths, and ROE. Its basically hidden experience points. Get points for kills, lose points for deaths, and lose a large amount of points for ROE and a huge one for getting kicked for ROE. The only thing the Honor level really affects right now is if you want a weapon and someone else wants the same one then the person with the higher honor level gets the weapon.
Combat Effectiveness Meter(CEM): There is now a little meter next to your health on your HUD. The meter shows how accurate your shots will be. It follows the same rules as before(moving you're less accurate, more accurate crouching, etc) and has a few new things. For instance, if an M203(saw) is being fired then your accuracy will decrease, also if you hear bullets hitting walls or anything like that then your accuracy decreases a little. When you take damage your accuracy goes down too. So the higher the meter is the more accurate your shots will be. One more thing, they changed the sniper rifle's accuracy, its supposed to be 100% accurate now(so you hit right where your sights are lined when you fire) but they changed the breathing patter which is also affected by the damage you've taken.
The new map that has been added is Mountain Pass which is an extension of the bridge map. Its set in snowy mountains right past the tunnel that is at the end of the bridge map. Also, you can finally see which fire team you belong to by either an a or a b next to your name, helpful if you actually join a game where everyone acts as a real team. Go to AAfiles.com to download this 28mb patch but be warned, there is one huge bug in it that is affecting ALL of the servers. About 75% of people who are trying to play this game after the patch(including myself) are experiencing large amounts of lag. Hopefully, this will be fixed soon but my ping has gone from 200 on the closest server to me to 400 on the closest to me.
