I'm sure we have all heard the rumors flying around about how Sega is
deciding to make games for multiplatforms. We'll everything you heard
little kiddies, is absolutely... true. It seems Sega is just not making
enough money with its Dreamcast system, so they are now being forced to
make games for other systems. Space Channel 5 has already been announced
for the PS2, and Sonic The Hedgehog Advance is advancing to the GBA. Of
course Sega promises that the DC will still be supported with over 50
titles coming in 2001. Some of the major concerns are that the DC will
stop being produced in March of 2001, and that the online aspect of Sega
will no longer be a focus. Sure there are still plenty of great online
games still coming out, but for how long? Hopefully the DC will not turn
out like the Saturn. The DC already has so many great games, and has revolutionized
console online gaming.

The good news is that although the Dc may not live past the year 2001,
those great games by Sega will still be available to those of us who own
such systems as GBA and PS2. I would love to see the Shenmue story pan
out even if it's on the PS2, and who wouldn't want a Jet Grind Radio sequel.
I really hate to hear that Sega is not doing well because I think they
have much potential, but apparently a lot of people (especially the Japanese)
don't see it that way. Why? I don't know. I mean it's a given that the
DC is a great system, and at this point the best thing on the market.

Oh well, life sucks, but the gaming must go on! Think of it this way,
you won't be loosing a console, you'll be having to go out and buy another
for Sega games. Hmmmmmm... scratch that last sentence.

Until next time, keep that electricity bill high.
