The History of NBrid so far...

Back in the good ol's days (April 2000), the Sega irc chat server was an enjoyable place to be. "Ops" as they are called, were not little babies that kline and ban people just because they are bored. No, some rooms even had real discussions. One such room was #sonic.
*Side Note* If you don't know me then you may not understand parts of this story. A room on IRC chat is denoted by a #.
Anyway, I went to one such room to find fellow videogamers. I met this one guy named Dolphin. I asked him if his nickname was about the code-named Nintendo Console (now called Gamecube) or the mammal. Obviously he was a fan of the big N. Now we talked and I'm not sure about this part but...I had this room called #dolphin and asked him to help out with me. Another person happened to join that day too. "Tidings" joined for whatever reason and we all just sat and talked. My old friend Weapon from the Midway party days (utter failure) joined as well. So we were 4 guys chatting in a room without pesty ops and no life. We started this thing called the "Dolphin Raid" as we all changed to different forms of the word Dolphin and "expressed" our opinions on gamers with the wrong idea. Now that I look back at this, I notice how lame it was, but hey, it was fun.
To fill you in, the Dolphin guy was known as Eienhander as his normal nickname. Any brid who doesn't know this is pretty much an idiot. He helped me organize a group in which we would "test" potential members. We moved the room immediately to #hybrid where I used to gather my friends on chat. Time passes and about a week later (maybe more, maybe less), Eienhandr disappears without notice. Well I'm left to organize the Dolphins by myself. More time passes and in the month of May I gain and lose members, but none with the same significance as Eien. A new addition called "Clashbrothers" is added. I talked about the name with Sinister. It was something where you could bet who would win in a match up of popular video game mascots. Responses were done in memos or just an explanation. This was pretty lame without a poll but Sin had some cool stories. Oh yeah, the name NBrid was brought up at a meeting and Tidings convinced me to go with it.
June comes and I feel it's time for a website. Remember, the main reason of NBrid was to inform others of the Nintendo Dolphin and to find others like us. I go exploring rooms one night I was bored and find #nintendo and #playstation2 taken by the same guy. I'm surprised to find someone unbiased on this server (which has been on a downhill slope since NBrid started). I ask "Bonestorm" if he would like to be affiliates with my room. This would give us both more visitors. Back to the site, I am on a Dreamcast at home and would not have enough time to devote to a website. Bonestorm and Weapon both make mock up site for NBrid. No offence Weapon, but it sucked...The site had a Clashbrothers poll and some menus.
*Side Note*Sinister tried making a site too...let's not get into that one...
So I worked with Bone on the site by emails and chat. I made the logo (first one sucked) and told him my basic plan for the layout. We originally had rumor information on the Dolphin, but we aren't that professional at this time. : ) The site evolves, but it's not until NBridNet 2.0 that it really stands out. We basically worked on this towards the end of the summer and I have to give props to bone for getting it done so fast.
More members come and a little thing called Spaceworld passes on. The name of Dolphin is now known as Gamecube. I stayed up until 5:30 AM to see the first shots from Japan...Well long story short, we needed a new purpose for NBrid. NBrid is currently dedicated to giving aspiring gamers a voice in the community without having to deal with the usual biased Sony crap. As of this time NBridNet 4.0 is basically revising the brilliant NBridNet 3.0. You can send reviews, editorials, post opinions, vote on dream matches, chat, trivia...and Much more is hidden somewhere in the walls of NBrid.net. So enjoy this aside to my favorite site (Why wouldn't it be my favorite?) and explore the site to see things you never knew existed. 'Cause we don't preach the hype, just encourage the hardcore.
