After the resounding success of the recent history of NBrid webhosts, I bring you a look at the history of the sites hosted on those servers! And not just any walkthrough, but an actual look at the sites via our brand new NBrid Museum.

I'll try not to talk too much and get right down to business. I uploaded versions of previous NBrid websites (all under "www.nbrid.net/museum") for all to view and remember the "good ol' days of yore". A few things to note:

  • Nothing is functional from forms to polls to counters.
  • Most external site links have been removed.
  • All articles have been removed (if you see something you like, search for it here in the archives). The exceptions being stories linked in the headlines (which were left so you can get an idea of what they looked like) and Evo.

More specific information on each version is listed below.

Nbrid 1.0: June 8 - June 21, 2000

As you can see this version was short lived. And I must inform you that sadly it has been lost over time. However, since it was "thrown" together using a simple FrontPage theme, I have painstakingly put together a mockup of what it roughly looked like. There isn't much here, but it gives you an idea of where it all started. Notice the sweet logo (by Hybrid of course).

Nbrid 2.0: June 22 - August 9, 2000

This version lasted over two whole months! And just like with 1.0, it has been lost. What I have linked here is a graphic of the original concept designed by Hybrid himself. The colors are off and the half-circle 'things' in the upper corners were never realized, but its something. I should point out though that as time went on we realized that 3.0 really was more of a 2.5 so early versions of 3 weren't that different. It was at this point Hybrid became the website design master (and graphic artist) while I remained the bitch, err the html coder. This great teamwork lasted throughout the website changes. So thank Hybrid for all these fun versions.

Nbrid 3.0: August 10 - December 31, 2000

Wow! Version 3 has lasted the longest yet. I have two versions to show from the "Version 3" era (this helps make up for the lose of 2.0). The first I have here is 3.1 which had only slight modifications over 3.0 in early September (mainly changing the 'Dolphin' section to 'Gamecube' for obvious reasons). The other version, 3.2, has several changes. Of note is the addition (finally) of a recent news listing on the homepage. Who says we don't listen to our viewers.

Nbrid 4.0: 01.01.01 - May 4, 2001

This was an odd time for Nbrid. Everything, and I mean everything, was Dreamcast based. The site was even specifically designed to work well on DC with little thought to PC users. I must also once again mention nearly all of 4.0 has been lost. I was able to piece together what the homepage looked like from old graphics and the Dreamweaver template I still had, but I can't guarantee the way the news is presented here is accurate. All you will find here is the splash page and the homepage, but most of the sub-pages hadn't changed much from the 3.0 days. Since as I already said this was a crazy time, notice the PSO influence, especially in the left menu. Damn that lying NbKilla2K...

NBrid 5.0: 05.05.01 - February 1, 2002

Looking back, I think 5.0 was the "heyday" for the site. It seems to have been the overall most liked anyway. I found two versions saved, but the differences were not big enough to warrant the need to post them both. I uploaded the newest version I had, 5.1 released 8/24/01, which had a few changes over 5.0. They included removal of the 'Current Events' section on the homepage and replacing it with a link to the new Gamecube news page, removing the right menu from every page but the homepage, a new splash flash (check out the timeline in Site Info to see the old flash movie), removing the gateway names from under the upper left logos, and changing a few menu links.

NBrid Evo (6.0): 02.02.02 - July, 2002

I don't know what to say here except the obvious, the illfated Evo looks damn sweet. The main problems seemed to be the "confusing" navigational flash and the long load times. Because Evo was/is so cool, I have left it fairly intact. You can find all the articles (unlike in the other versions), and even all the fan art. But again none of the forms or polls work. Note that the previously mentioned flash doesn't work either, but I have added a pop-up with all the links you need. So, enjoy!

NBrid "NOG": July, 2002 - Today

This is what you're looking at! ("NOG" here means "NBrid Weblog".) It no longer has the same look as it originally did (you can see it by changing skins to 'original'), but the basic concept is the same. The focus is on content, not looks, and ease of updating by anyone who wants to.

Now ends this brief tour through the NBrid Museum. Just be sure to stop buy our gift shop before you leave. (No, that's not a typeo.)
