What's more surprising than NBrid not getting any new articles in a month? Wade submitting a new edition of the hole? Maybe, but that didn't happen yet to my knowledge. I'd say it's the fact that, for the first time in who knows how long, I paid to see a movie. But why was it this one?

Having never seen the original Scary Movie or Scary Movie 2, I really had no idea what to expect when we decided to end our unusually boring Friday night with a movie.  After all, what better way to end an evening of painting the town various colors than to wind down with a nice soothing comedic plunge?

But this was no ordinary plunge.  Tonight I dove head first into Scary Movie 3, a moderately funny bunch of physical comedy and popular movie parodies strung together to make somewhat of a plot.

At the heart of this comedy movie, as with most comedy films, was the funny.  I don't know how much longer this movies heart will beat in the theaters, however.  Not to say that the funny was non-existant in this film, but what was there was something a little less than your normal funny.  While this movie may cause you to chuckle once in a while, don't expect the gut busting laughter you've come to expect when you see a "funny movie."

One thing that will make the night interesting, should you see this movie, is trying to figure out how they wove aspects of The Matrix, 8 Mile, and others into a loose fitting parody of Signs and decided it was worthy of being filmed.  To say that the plot made sense is like saying that Kia is a quality automobile manufacturer; you can't truthfully.

All in all, this movie was just plain alright.  If you're really into the kind of humor that's not more than a little funny, go see it.  If you were looking for a good time at the cinema showplace and the real movies were sold out, see this one, just don't pay for it because you'll regret it afterwards.  If it were up to me what you did with your time and money, however, I'd say just wait for it to come out on video, it shouldn't be too long.

Final Verdict -- 3.5 (Out of 5)
