The 2003 NBVA Award Winners
The votes have been counted and here (at long last) are the results of 2003's NBrid Videogame Awards! Forget IGN, GameSpot, EGM; these are the picks that matter! So which game among this year's strong line-up wins Game of the Year?
These games were voted on by members of NBrid and visitors to the site in December and January. People were allowed to pick from a list of potential games, or they could write-in a vote for the game of their choice (and many did). I (bonestormer) did not participate. Instead when ever there was a tie, I broke it. No one likes two winners. They might as well both have lost then. Or at least, that's my reasoning.
The votes did seem to lean towards Nintendo more than any other side, but for the most part it seemed "fair and balanced". Some people threw their votes away (I'm sorry, but F-Zero GX is not a sports game, no racing game is), others just didn't vote in every category. In general there was a clear winner, but "Game of the Year" was so wide open, I think it was just chance the below game "won".
If you didn't vote, don't complain! If you did... complain away!

Game of the Year - None
(That's right, no game wins this year! I'm sorry if you feel cheated. But it's not like you had a lot invested in this anyways. Either people couldn't decide, or they felt no game distanced itself from the rest. A few people actually wrote-in "none", but the real reason no game wins is because so many people didn't bother to even vote in this category. To be fair though, if I did that with every category there would be a couple more 'none's, but ask yourself, do we really want SOCOM II to win GOTY with 14% of the vote?)
